T. J. International
Brief
Supply and implement an ERP application to computerise the production process and improve working practices.
Business Case
TJ International is a specialist book printer, based in Padstow, Cornwall. As well as traditional book printing, they also operate a specialist digital printing operation, TJI Digital, which allows short runs down to as few as 10 books.
TJ International wanted to get closer to their customers. They needed to streamline their processes and integrate them with the needs of their client base. They wanted reporting tools that would give their customers the kind of information they needed. They wanted to use the internet to give clients a direct and immediate interface to their processes and data.
Implementation
We implemented a complete ERP suite across both of TJ International’s operations. The scope of the system covers everything from shop floor data collection using touch screens right through to a website which allows customers to enter orders online.
The core of the systems is our SolPrint application, running on a SQL Server database. Web access is provided by the SolPrintXN module.
Benefits
“We have seen immediate benefits from the functionality, reporting and development of the system. The departments have found that the software is meeting their requirements. The users have moved over very well.” IT Manager, TJ International Ltd
Client Feedback
Q: What made you decide to buy a new system?
A: We had a number of different systems running. At TJ International Ltd we used the Shuttleworth Unix and Windows based systems. TJI Digital used the Shuttleworth Windows based system stand-alone.
We have a very modern and fast growing structure and decided to undertake a full review of our MIS systems. From this a Wish List was produced, identifying all the company requirements.
Q: Why did you choose SolPrint?
A: After a full review of MIS suppliers, it become clear that one system, SolPrint, could deliver the package to meet our requirements - a true windows system which would run on a single platform. We were also very happy with the SolPrint attitude towards development and customer service.
