| TJ International consolidates systems with one solution - SolPrint
i-teba's mission? To provide an MIS/ERP solution for a modern, fast growing book printer, TJ International, that would deliver an entire package to meet their requirements.
TJ International’s remit? That the system could stand up to the demands of an ever changing industry, more so, in light of the future – especially in relation to JDF and the constraints of Waste Management.
How did i-teba do this? i-teba sent one of their developers to work closely with TJ International to ascertain their exact requirements and to come up with a system that fully supported their needs. This involved extensive site visits to work alongside TJ’s IT department and shop floor staff to ensure that all aspects of the production processes were addressed.
Why did TJ choose SolPrint? “After a full review of MIS suppliers, it become clear that one system, SolPrint, could deliver a full package to meet our requirements - a true windows system which would run on a single platform – and which could be tailored to suit our changing needs,” Neil Boucher, IT Manager at TJ International.
“We were also very impressed with i-teba’s attitude and approach towards ongoing development and their willingness to assist us in streamlining our business which in turn allows us to become more profitable. We weren’t just given a system out of a box and told ‘that’s it’.” |

Has SolPrint worked for TJ? “SolPrint has proved more than capable of meeting all of TJ International’s needs. We recently became one of the first printers in the U.K. to implement JDF enabled modules via the SolPrint Management Information System to all four of our Heidelberg Speedmasters. Initially staff were reluctant to go the JDF route but now it is installed the benefits are obvious throughout the company. Staff feel they are doing their jobs better, we as a company are more profitable. JDF is certainly Job Done Faster.”
More news “i-teba have recently installed SolPrint’s unique ProductionXN module at the Padstow site. This is an online machine loading/scheduling interface that is used to schedule jobs on to the presses and allows operators to review these schedules per machine. Jobs can then be loaded onto the presses whereupon they are unwrapped section by section within the job. Operators can then view and select print jobs through the press console making the whole process slicker with less key strokes. The presses now run round the clock seven days a week.”
