Business Case
Emap publishes exciting and successful magazines in all market sectors. The websites associated with these are an integral part of the offering and are an important marketing tool. Some of these websites, such as the flagship FHM site, are among the most heavily accessed in the country. www.fhm.com alone handles up to one million page impressions per month and 1.3 million unique registered users. The websites themselves are dynamic and database-driven, and are generated by a number of different content management systems.
Emap need to make sure that the sites are kept properly maintained and that changes are made in a timely and accurate manner. They need a wide range of skills covering the infrastructure, the environment and the development tools. They need a quick response to change requests to meet tight editorial deadlines.
Implementation
We provide a comprehensive support, maintenance and development service for sites such as FHM, New Woman and Empire. We have also done development work on the Q, MaxPower, Kerrang!, MixMag, More and Smash Hits sites.
We keep the sites up and running, make changes to the sites and the content management systems and develop new sites and databases as required. We also carry out major migration or upgrade projects as usage of the sites grow or when the hosting provider has changed.
As well as looking after the websites, we have also developed several administration systems which run on Emap’s LAN and we provide ongoing support for these systems.
We have developed a cutting-edge content management system which delivers pictures, sounds and text provided by Emap editorial staff to MMS mobile phones.
We have been providing outsourced services to Emap since 1999.
